Understanding the External Ads Tracker

Understanding the External Ads Tracker

The External Ads Tracker helps sellers create special links that can track visits and sales from ads created outside of noon platform (for example, on social media or Google). It makes it easy to see how well your off-platform campaigns are performing — showing you clicks, visits, and sales results, so you can understand your real return on investment (ROI).

Our vision is to enable partners to seamlessly generate trackable links and easily direct traffic to their noon brand stores, product listing pages or product pages.

When should you use the External Ads Tracker?

Use the External Ads Tracker if you’re running ads outside of noon and want to send people to your store page, product listing, or specific product page on noon.

You just need to:
  1. Create a tracked link (with a unique UTM tag) for your campaign on Seller Lab.
  2. Use this link in your ad you are running externally. noon will then track traffic and show your campaign’s performance.

How does tracking work?

  1. noon uses a last-touch attribution model, meaning the sale is credited to the last ad the customer clicked before buying.
  2. The attribution window is 14 days — if the customer purchases within 14 days of clicking your ad, it counts toward your campaign.
  3. Only sessions longer than 3 seconds are counted (to remove accidental clicks or bots).
  4. Even if users don’t click on a product, their valid sessions are still recorded.
Notes
Note:
1. Last-touch attribution: The last ad clicked before purchase gets the credit for the sale; that’s what last-touch attribution means.
2. Attribution window: The attribution window means that if someone clicks your ad and buys something within a specified time, the sale will still be counted for your ad.

How to access the External Ads Tracker?

To access the External Ads tracker you can follow these simple steps.

- Click on Ads and Promotion and then click on External Ads Tracker.

- You will be redirected to the External Ads tracker page, where you can check the performance of your ads that you run externally.

You can easily create the campaign link that you can use in your ads by simply following these steps.

- Select the country for which you are creating the campaign and then click on Generate UTM Campaign.

- A pop-up appears on the screen where you need to give a name for the campaign and the link where you want to redirect the traffic. Then click on Create Campaign UTM Link.

- The links are generated, and you can select whichever link you want to use. You will have a generic link without the sources. The next section shows the link for the social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. You can copy and use these links.

- If you further scroll down, you can give the source for which you want the link, and the system will generate the link below.  You can copy the link and use it in your ads. Click on Done once the link is created.

How can you track your campaign performance?

Once the campaign link is created and the ad is live, you can check your ad's performance directly on the Seller Lab

- You can click on the Campaign name for which you want to check the performance.

- You will be redirected to the performance page, where you can see the performance metrics at the campaign level at the top of this page. You can select the metrics in the performance graph to see the day-to-day performance.

- You can scroll down on this page to see the products and the sources from where the traffic is viewing your product.

- Under the product section, you will see performance metrics at an item level.

- When you change it to Source, this will show you the performance metrics of your ads, based on the source where it is running.

More actions you can take on the External Ads tracker.

In this section, we will discuss the other actions available to you on this tracker.

- You can set a date range to filter the campaigns that were active in the date range.

- You will also be able to get a summary of the performance for all your ads, which includes the sessions, visitors, orders, revenue generated, impressions, clicks, and how many customers added to cart, units sold, and the conversion rate.

- You can also search for a specific campaign by entering the campaign name, and even export the details of all the campaigns as an Excel file.

That’s it!
